President Xi presided over a symposium on comprehensively promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, and emphasized that the Yangtze River Economic Belt must become China's main battlefield of prioritizing ecological conservation and boosting green development, become the major artery for a smooth "dual circulation" of domestic and international markets, and lead the main force of high-quality economic development. Liu Zhibiao, director and chairman of the Yangtze Industrial Economic Institute (IDEI) of Nanjing University, also a distinguished professor of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program, suggested that Nanjing should become an important hub city which smooths "dual circulation" .Liu Zhibiao believes that "dual circulation" is a very important strategic arrangement from the US-centered globalization to the China-centered globalization. It provides a golden opportunity for Nanjing, a city rich in science and education resources, to build an important hub city of "dual circulation" by relying on its own advantages.He also said that in order to build Nanjing into a hub city under the "dual circulation", it is necessary to establish a domestic demand-oriented globalization strategy, build Nanjing into a transportation hub, a trade hub, a financial hub, an information hub and a talent hub, so as to make Nanjing a base and center for gathering innovative elements at home and abroad.
