At the Yangtze River Delta University Think Tank Summit jointly held by Fudan Development Research Institute of Fudan University and the Yangtze River Delta University Think Tank Alliance on November 27, Xu Ning, vice president of the Yangtze River Industrial Economy Research Institute of Nanjing University, released the report on industrial innovation and development in the Yangtze River Delta. His report shows that since 2010, the Yangtze River Delta region has vigorously developed high-tech industries and absorbed a large number of professional technology and R&D talents. The average annual growth rate of R&D personnel has reached 7.87%, showing an increase in the accumulation of talents. However, from the perspective of the expenditure structure of R&D expenditure, the proportion of basic research expenditure is still low. An important reason for this phenomenon is that the R&D investment in the Yangtze River Delta region mainly comes from enterprises, and the investment of enterprises always focuses on experimental development rather than basic research projects. The current data shows that the degree of industrial innovation integration of high-tech enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region is increasing, but we still need to find a better solution mechanism in the integration of science and technology and industrial innovation from a broader perspective, so as to further increase the new connectivity between innovative elements.
