Nanjing is standing at a new starting point of development. This year, Nanjing's GDP is expected to rank among the top ten cities in China for the first time since the reform and opening up, and its growth level will continue to be in the forefront of similar cities.The 11th Plenary Session of the 14th Nanjing Municipal Party Committee planned Nanjing’s positioning in the "14th Five-Year Plan" and 2035 development goals. At least two of them impressed me.The first is to deepen the strategy of "Famous Innovative City" and further propose the construction of a global innovative city with high-quality development. The Ninth Plenary Session of the 13th Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee proposed that Nanjing "will take up the responsibility of the provincial capital, show the new splendor of an innovative city, and become an indispensable force for the country's self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology"， which puts forward new requirements for the construction of an innovative city in the 14th five year plan period.The second is to speed up the construction of Nanjing into a "national central city with high level radiation". This is an important leap forward based on the positioning of Nanjing as a provincial capital city, a central city and a megacity. "High level radiation" means not only to play a leading role in boosting regional economic development in the context of the integration of the Yangtze River Delta and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, but also to play the role of the source of science and technology, reflecting the function of science and technology radiation.
