General secretary Xi Jinping held a forum to promote the development of the Yangtze River economic belt. He stressed that "efforts should be made to turn the Yangtze River Economic Belt into the country's main focus for green development, the major artery for a smooth 'dual circulation' of domestic and international markets, and the main force spearheading high-quality economic development". During the 14th Five Year Plan period, Jiangsu has the foundation, conditions and advantages to explore a new model of socialist modernization in which ecological protection is coordinated with economic development, cross river integration and coastal development are promoted.Specifically, Jiangsu can achieve the following five points in building a socialist modernization demonstration zone of the Yangtze River Economic Belt:1. Pay attention to ecological environment investment and build a more charming Yangtze River.2. Promote the function improvement of the "golden waterway" of the Yangtze River, and promote the effective connection of the Yangtze River waterway with the Grand Canal and highway, rail and aviation.3. Enhance the leading role of central cities in the construction of the Yangtze River economic belt, promote the integrated development of cities along the Yangtze River, and build a world-class urban agglomeration.4. We will accelerate the construction of a national major innovation platform, promote the coordinated development of scientific and technological innovation and industrial transformation, and take the lead in building an independent, controllable, safe and efficient world-class advanced manufacturing cluster.5. We will strengthen institutional innovation and build an institutional system that supports the socialist modernization of the Yangtze River economic belt.
