Industrial chain modernization is a major plan and deployment made by the state for the development of China's industrial modernization under the background of Sino-US economic and trade frictions. The process of industrial chain modernization is a necessary condition for supporting China's high-quality development. This paper analyzes the modernization of industrial chain from the perspective of industrial economics, focusing on three issues: what is the substantive meaning and standard of the modernization of industrial chain? What are the main contents of industrial chain modernization? How to coordinate the mechanisms for promoting the modernization of the industrial chain?The standard of industrial chain modernization can be analyzed from the perspectives of R&D and technological innovation ability, value creation ability of enterprise chain, and factor coordination of modern industrial system. Strengthening the research on the industrial chain has important practical value and theoretical significance. In short, it is mainly manifested in: (1) It can overcome the macro defects of industrial structure analysis and input-output analysis, and enhance the observation of the micro-relevance of the industry. (2) The analysis of industrial chain has practical value in operation. (3) It is conducive to the formulation of more scientific and reasonable anti-monopoly standards and the promotion of scientific and technological progress. (4) It can make the discipline of industrial economics more in line with the practice of market economy development. The fifth meeting of the Central Finance and Economics Committee pointed out that to promote the modernization of the industrial chain, enterprises and entrepreneurs should be the mainstay, policy coordination should be the guarantee, the combination of government guidance and market mechanism should be adhered to, and independence and open cooperation should be promoted. To implement and realize the requirements of these principles and directions, we must first coordinate the relationship between industrial policy and competition policy, establish the basic position of competition policy, and use this as a guide to adjust other relevant policies and create an institutional environment for fair competition.
