As a province with strong economy and high energy consumption, Jiangsu should conscientiously implement Xi Jinping's idea of ecological civilization, promote the transformation of green and low-carbon economy and society, and strive to take the lead in achieving the goal of peak carbon emission and carbon neutrality in the whole country.The author believes that Jiangsu needs to work from both the supply side and the demand side at the same time. On the one hand, carbon reduction on the supply side is the top priority for achieving carbon neutrality. Carbon taxes and carbon emissions trading rights can be used to encourage companies to adjust their energy use methods; carbon sequestration technologies such as CCS can be used to eliminate fossil energy carbon emissions. On the other hand, it is necessary to start from the demand side management to promote energy conservation for the whole people in the consumption fields of clothing, food, housing, transportation, and use. In this process, the synergy of technology, market and government should be brought into full play. Finally, the author expounds the specific path of peak carbon emission and carbon neutrality in various industries from the energy supply department, energy application department and agriculture and forestry department.
