Lv Feng: A Brief Analysis of the Source of American Manufacturing Competitiveness

In 2019, the added value of the US manufacturing industry was US $2.34 trillion, exceeding the $2.316 trillion of the entire EU. Although this scale has long been surpassed by China, considering that the United States firmly controls the high-end links of a series of core links such as design, R & D and financing of the global manufacturing industry, there is no doubt that the United States is still the first tier manufacturing power in the world. The analysis of American manufacturing industry has reference significance for the development of China's manufacturing industry.This paper describes the strong competitiveness of American manufacturing industry, and summarizes the reasons for the long-term competitiveness of American manufacturing industry into the following six points: the high innovation ability at all levels of society brought by hierarchical education, the unified big market under high commercialization, the attention to the development of small enterprises, the integrated development of military and civilian, the strong purchasing power of the whole country and low transaction cost. Finally, by observing the characteristics of the formation of American manufacturing competitiveness, this paper summarizes the experience worthy of reference for China.
