The Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee pointed out that we should reform the income distribution system and promote common prosperity. General Secretary Xi also mentioned this view on many occasions. It can be seen that the coordination and matching of the three distributions and the organic unity of efficiency and fairness are the only way to common prosperity.After analyzing the concept of common prosperity, this article analyzes their respective meanings to common prosperity from the perspectives of primary, secondary and tertiary distribution. Finally, it is concluded that the primary distribution provides the premise of productivity for common prosperity, which is conducive to the continuous growth of wealth and meets the requirements of "prosperity" in common prosperity, while the secondary distribution and tertiary distribution provide the guarantee of production relations for common prosperity, which is conducive to reducing the gap of wealth distribution and meeting the requirements of "common" in common prosperity. Generally speaking, the primary distribution focuses on efficiency, the secondary distribution focuses on fairness, and the tertiary distribution is supplemented. The three are coordinated and matched to form a basic distribution system with Chinese characteristics and contribute to the goal of common prosperity.
