Recently, the 10th plenary session of the 13th CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee proposed to "take the lead in building a more internationally competitive modernization of the economic system". Among them, the most important content and foundation is to build a modern industrial system that aims at the development of the real economy, enables the coordinated development of technological innovation, modern finance, human resources and other elements, and has global competitiveness. This paper holds that Jiangsu has the conditions for industrial modernization, and should further improve the overall level of Jiangsu's industry and build a more internationally competitive modern economic system with systematic thinking, and expounds the measures to build Jiangsu's modern industrial system from the following six dimensions:
1. Strengthening the province through manufacturing: building several world-class industrial clusters with the concept of high-quality development
2. Scientific and technological innovation: forming an innovation model of organic integration of science and technology and Industry
3. Investment in knowledge economy: vigorously develop producer services and improve industrial efficiency
4. Talent resources: establish a developed vocational education system and cultivate "craftsman" talents
5. Opening up at home and abroad: accelerating the formation of a new pattern of dual circulation of industry at home and abroad
6. Digitization: focusing on the new generation of information technology to empower the industry by digitization
