According to the world intellectual property organization, 150 million patent documents have been published worldwide, with millions of new documents added every year. More than 95% of the world's latest inventions and creations are recorded in patent documents, and about 70% of inventions and creations are only disclosed in patent documents. The survey shows that the effective use of patent information can save 60% of the R&D time and 40% of the R&D cost for the enterprise on average, and help the enterprise to plan the patent layout and effectively reduce the risk of infringement. According to statistics, the utilization rate of patent information of Chinese enterprises is about 35%, while the full utilization rate is only about 1%, while that of Japanese enterprises is 92%; The repetition rate of scientific research carried out by scientific research institutions in China is as high as 40%. There is a great space for China to use patent information to promote the development of scientific and technological small and medium-sized enterprises.
Firstly, this paper points out that patent information is the smart treasury of enterprise innovation, an important reference for production and operation and an important basis for enterprise strategic positioning. With some practical cases in Jiangsu, it proves the role of patent in helping enterprises overcome R&D difficulties, enhance enterprise technical strength and build enterprise patent firewall. Finally, this paper provides three suggestions for the patent information application path of specialized new "little giant" enterprises: 1. Build a patent information tracking system in the R&D project stage. 2. Build a patent information support system for R&D process. 3. Improve the information application mechanism of high-value patent layout.
