Through statistical data, this paper analyzes Jiangsu's position in science and technology and industrial innovation in the Yangtze River Delta. The results show that Jiangsu is more inclined to the application-oriented experimental activities with enterprises as the main input, and is more successful in the transformation of experimental results, but the investment in fundamental research is insufficient. In addition, the regional innovation links along Shanghai-Nanjing are close, and the high-tech industries show a trend of regional agglomeration.
Next, this article analyzes several issues that Jiangsu needs to pay attention to when it integrates and promotes the integration of technology and industrial innovation in the Yangtze River Delta: fundamental research investment lags behind industrial applications; administrative division barriers and local protectionism hinder the integrated development of innovation; the system and mechanism of subject collaborative innovation need to be further optimized to improve the integration of science and technology and industry; there is a lack of a number of world-class industrial clusters, and the leading force of regional science and innovation industries is insufficient.
Finally, this paper puts forward some suggestions to pay close attention to the integration of the Yangtze River Delta and promote the industrial innovation and development of Jiangsu: 1. Explore the institutional arrangement of transforming competitive assessment into collaborative assessment. 2. Establish a benefit sharing mechanism for innovative achievements to fully stimulate the polarity of industries, universities and research institutes. 3. Build an intermediary market for the transformation of scientific and technological services, and use market mechanisms to promote the deep integration of the innovation chain and the industrial chain. 4. Expand the radiation scope of "Shanghai-Nanjing Industrial Innovation Belt" and form resonance and interaction with the "G60 S&T Innovation Valley".
