This article is a speech delivered by Professor Fan Conglai at the Symposium on the book "The governance methods of Jiangsu's good officials in the past dynasties". He believes that the publication of this book has three major meanings.

3. This book inherits and carries forward the excellent governance methods of Jiangsu officials. From ancient times to the present, Jiangsu's contribution to the national economy is far greater than its area proportion. The sages of past dynasties and contemporary leaders have jointly created brilliant achievements in Jiangsu's various undertakings.
