This article is Professor Zhang Erzhen's interpretation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's statement that "China's door of opening-up will only open wider".
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, from the report of the 19th National Congress of the CPC to the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, Boao Forum for Asia, China International Import Expo and many other important domestic and foreign occasions, General Secretary Xi Jinping has repeatedly emphasized that China will never shut its door to the outside world, but only open ever wider. Against the backdrop of adverse currents in economic globalization, complex and ever-changing international political and economic situations, and the haze of the epidemic in the century, General Secretary Xi Jinping's "golden sentence" is intended to demonstrate China's clear attitude of always adhering to the basic national policy of opening up. Firstly, this paper points out the significance of opening-up to the outside world to China's economic development, and analyzes that trade is the most important part of opening-up. Then, the article discusses how to rely on multinational corporations and foreign-funded enterprises to further expand opening-up, and how opening-up can drive economic development, so as to promote common prosperity.
