Since the beginning of this year, some unexpected factors in the international and domestic environment have exceeded expectations, the macroeconomic operation has faced greater uncertainty, and the smooth economic circulation has been further challenged. This paper analyzes the three major challenges that China is currently facing: the pressure brought by the Omicron variants to the prevention and control of the epidemic, the complex situation faced by the international industrial chain and supply chain, and the impact of the COVID-19 and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine on China's opening-up pattern. Faced with these challenges, this paper provides three suggestions based on the situation in Nanjing: 1. Balance the relationship between epidemic control and economic development; 2. Improve the basic capabilities of the industry to ensure a smooth economic circulation; 3. Improve the level of opening-up to smooth the economic circulation.
