China has released a guideline on accelerating the establishment of a unified domestic market that is highly efficient, rules-based, fair for competition, and open. At present, with the coronavirus mutating constantly, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continuing to intensify, the global economy is facing greater and greater uncertainty.
The western countries led by the United States have accelerated the construction of a global industrial chain and supply chain system based on values alliance of desinification , resulting in a more complex external market situation facing China's economic development. Therefore, there is an urgent need to shift China's economic growth mode from highly dependent on the foreign market to focusing on the domestic market and create a new economic development pattern of dual-circulation that takes the domestic market as the mainstay while domestic and foreign markets complement each other. In terms of building a new development pattern of dual circulation, the key point is to effectively link up the foreign market by smoothing the domestic market, which inevitably requires that China must accelerate the pace of economic system reform, break the barriers of local protectionism and market segmentation, break through the bottleneck restricting the domestic market, promote the smooth flow of commodity factor resources on a larger scale, and build a unified domestic market that is highly efficient, rules-based, fair for competition, and open. This paper analyzes the significance of accelerating the construction of a unified national market, and provides suggested policy measures.
